POINT GUARD CAMP ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The Point Guard Camp with Roberto Fortes focuses on developing the key skills needed to control the game, make better decisions and lead on the court.

 

The camp will focus on five key areas:

1. Ball Control & Movement
Ball handling, changes of pace, balance, coordination and efficient movement.
 

2. Finishing Through Contact
Different solutions to finish around the basket using body control, balance and angles against defensive contact.

3. Passing, Vision & Decision-Making
Improve court vision, recognize space, find open teammates and make better decisions.
 

4. Shooting
Develop a smoother, more consistent and efficient shooting stroke through balance, rhythm and space creation.
 

5. Think the Game & Leadership
Learn how to understand the game, control the tempo, anticipate situations, communicate and become a leader on the court.

Elite Player Development

Roberto Fortes

Roberto Fortes is a player development coach, founder of AAB Skill Development and a former professional basketball player with a 15-year career at a high level.

After a successful college career in the United States, playing at Daytona State College and NCAA Division I basketball at Illinois State University, Roberto went on to build an extensive professional career, winning multiple domestic championships. He also represented his national team for nine consecutive years, competing at the 2010 and 2014 FIBA World Cups.

As a coach, Roberto specializes in guard and wing development, focusing on advanced footwork, ball handling, change of pace, mid-range scoring, finishing and pick-and-roll decision-making. His methodology is designed to help players become more complete, efficient and difficult to defend.

He has worked with professional players including Jilson Bango, Prince Ali and Ivan Almeida, among other high-level athletes.
